interview – the oldest

January 14, 2009 · 1 Comment

In my blog surfing the other day I came across the idea of interviewing my kids at the beginning of each year. If I do it each year I’ll have a really fun snapshot of life at the moment. I told my husband about the idea and he suggested we do an interview to celebrate each child’s birthday. I love it! First up – the oldest who just celebrated her birthday a few weeks ago.

img_1045Her birthday is Christmas Eve and she just turned 10 years old. In the past year she’s gotten glasses and a retainer, made her first communion, joined swim team, learned how to boogie board in the ocean, learned how to ride her bike and had her ears pierced. Here is her interview:

Favorites:
color: light blue
food: soft pretzels
vegetable: corn
drink: lemonade
school subject: math
thing to do: play with animals (note: we have no pets in the house)
TV Show: iCarly
game: Whoonu
book: Beacon Street Girls series
restaurant: Steak n’Shake
holiday: Christmas
animal: killer whale

What do you like to do when you’re not in school?
Hang out with my friends, when it’s warm enough I like to play outside and ride my bike. Play on the Wii.

If you could change your name, what would you choose? Avery

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Either a first grade teacher or someone who works at the zoo with animals.

What do you love about each person in our family?
Dad: I like snuggling with him.
Mom: I like talking about books with you.
E: I like hanging out with her because we’re friends.
J: How whenever I play with him I feel like a little kid again.

What are some of your wishes for this year?
I want to learn how to do long division fast. And I want to play outside more instead of watching TV. And I want to have Mrs. Wise for my teacher next year.
