it's piling up around my snow sign
In January (and December… and part of February) I love snow. Everything looks so pretty with snow piled on top. The world has a unique hush to it when snow lies all around. And you can play in it!

sleds? who needs sleds?!?
This is why I have to live in the Midwest. We have summers basking in the sun by Lake Michigan. And winters filled with huge, fluffy snowflakes. I love it!!
And for you naysayers out there – I shoveled our driveway three times yesterday, I’ve driven around and I’ve dealt with kids’ snowy, wet clothes… and I’m not complaining one bit!

Raising my hand as a naysayer. For me, though, the snow isn’t the problem – it’s the cold. Like you, I think the hush and stillness that hangs in the air after a snowfall is wonderful. It’s my favorite part and I really enjoy “hearing” that when I’m out shoveling – but only when it’s not frigid. When it’s a balmy 30 degrees and I have to shovel – no problem. I’m cold-adverse as opposed to snow-adverse, but you have to have one for the other. Therein lies the rub.
