interview – the second
May 8, 2009
My second daughter, my May girl, is turning 8 years old on Saturday. And just like her sister back in December, she gets an annual birthday interview.

It’s been another good year for my bed-headed child. She’s lost a few teeth and discovered lots of new books. She’s seen Wicked and Mary Poppins and looked for fossils in the Ohio River floor. She’s taught us all a few fun facts from her reading as we toured places like Williamsburg and Springfield. She’s played the piano, swum some laps, earned lots of girl scout badges, danced on the high school football field, learned how to play golf, cooked with her mom and sprained her ankle. She makes friends everywhere she goes and she’s picked a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for her birthday celebration.
And these are a few of her favorite things:
color: pink and purple
food: chocolate!
vegetable: does lettuce count as a vegetable? then lettuce
drink: K’s special Hawaiian punch
school subject: social studies, I love social studies
hobby: reading
movie: High School Musical 3
game: kickball
book: oh my gosh, that’s hard! the Little House series
restaurant: Rudees in Virginia Beach
holiday: my birthday! okay… Christmas
animal: cats
If you could change your name, what would you choose?
Jennifer but I’d like to keep my middle name so Jennifer Marie
What do you want to be when you grow up?

What do you love about each person in our family?
Dad: I love to snuggle with him
Mom: she’s nice to me and she makes me good food
I like my sister because she lets me play with her
I like my brother because I get to play super heroes and star wars with him
What are some of your wishes for this year?
A good trip to Virginia, to make new friends and to have a nice sunny birthday.
