a mother’s litany

Don’t complain, fix the problem.

If you avoid doing something that you have to do, it will be that much harder when you finally get to it.

The work habits you establish now will be with you for the rest of your life.

Look at things with a positive attitude and you’ll have a more positive experience.

Life is full of choices, make the good ones.

You can do it. Yes. You. Can.

Don’t waste your energy on negative activities.

These are the words that come out of my mouth each and every day. Helping children wake up. Getting ready for the day. Doing homework. Driving to and from practice. I use every last breath some days reciting this litany and hoping some of it, just some of it sinks in.

This post is inspired by Heather of the EO’s idea to Just Write – a weekly exercise focused on free writing.
