About Me

Lake Michigan - perhaps my favorite place on earth
My name is Barb and this is my blog. What kind of blog? Sometimes a ‘mom blog’… sometimes a cooking blog… sometimes a laugh out loud blog… sometimes a busy blog and sometimes a completely and utterly random blog. Because really – that’s how my life works. I’m a mom of three and I manage my own consulting practice from home. Working out. Reading. Cooking. Playing. Beaching. Museuming. There’s a lot going on around here but it’s fun.

A few years ago we moved to northwest Indiana (known as da Region to you fellow Hoosiers). We live in a small town where my kids can walk to school and in the summer we walk to the library and the farmer’s market. And to keep my sanity I am but a short drive from Chicago and Lake Michigan – thank goodness. Want to learn more? Here’s 100 Things About Me.

And here’s another post that you might like: Where I’m From.

Quick Like A Bunny! It’s our mantra… our creed… our motto. Life is hectic and we’ve got a schedule to keep damn it!

  1. Wow! A little Twilight Zone music here…I just found and enjoyed and giggled at your blog this am and commented on your Betty and Veronica blog. I went to your 4th of July blog and you mentioned Indiana, where I live too. The Zone part is that we are originally from da region. I spent the 4th in Crown Point with sister and sat in her driveway being smoked out by “billion'” dollar fireworks!!!

  2. H Barb,

I’m Julie, the editor of “Mamapedia Voices”, and we feature guest bloggers on Mamapedia, a site for Moms all across the country. I’ve just found your blog, and would like to invite you write a piece which could be featured on our site.

Though Mamapedia Voices has just started out, it is already receiving a lot of attention, both on our site, on our guest bloggers’ sites, and beyond. We promote our featured guest bloggers through emails, Twitter, Facebook and more. It’s a wonderful opportunity to grow your audience!

If you would like to participate, please take a look at Mamapedia Voices. Next, sign up here http://bit.ly/BloggerSignUp to be on the blogger roster, and then you will be able to see the complete (and easy) instructions for submitting a piece for consideration.

Also, because we like your blog, please download a recognition badge from us- there are many fun designs to choose from here:http://www.mamapedia.com/voices/blogger_badge

If you have our badge on your blog, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win $100 for your favorite women’s, children’s or family charity! And you’ll be listed on our blog roll.

Thank you, and I look forward to reading more of your work!

    Best wishes,

  4. Hey Barb,

It’s Angie here–your former classmate a year behind you. Great to see your blog. I stumbled upon it on Facebook. Your kids look like a lot of fun, and it’s great to see you and Matt are still truckin’ along together!!

Kudos to you on writing a blog. I just started recently and hope to pick up the pace and keep it going for awhile. Looks like life is grand.

Best wishes to you and yours,
    Angie Humphrey
